Hello, I’m Dennis, a proud Marine Corps Veteran navigating life with Multiple Sclerosis for the past decade. The idea of creating a website to chronicle my journey with MS and possibly assist others grappling with this challenging condition has been a long-held aspiration.
In the summer of 2013, while residing in Columbus, Ohio, I began experiencing peculiar weakness in my right leg. Initially attributing it to a lack of physical fitness, I hit the gym, only to observe that the weakness in my right leg manifested intermittently, particularly when my body warmed up. Subsequently, I faced the loss of vision in my left eye and received a diagnosis of Optic Neuritis. Opting for healthcare primarily through the VA, I collaborated with my doctors to unravel the mystery behind my symptoms. Following numerous medical consultations, my neurologist at the VA referred me to an MS specialist at the Ohio State University, where I was ultimately diagnosed with Relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS).
Motivated by the countless individuals on social media passionately sharing their stories, I’ve decided to embark on a similar journey. My aim is to emulate the spirit of those who have inspired me and contribute to the collective knowledge surrounding MS. Much like a Jedi passing on wisdom, I wish to share my experiences and insights gained over the years. Through this platform, I hope to provide a space where I can offer recommendations based on what has personally worked for me in managing this disease.
